Jan has much more than a passing interest in interior design therefore a lot of time was spent with us to ensure the meticulous interpretation of her requirements. The classical design of this veritable mansion decreed the traditional style of the bespoke furniture but, as this is an extremely active household (a busy family life coupled with a hectic social calendar) Jan's love of cooking and entertaining demanded the practicality of modern high specification appliances.
SPECIFICATIONS - Graham and Jan chose solid oak "in-frame" furniture with bespoke hand-carved decorative corbels and pilasters. Their appreciation of fine wine has been catered for by the capacious "wine drawers" on either end of the enormous island. The unusual handles are in multi faceted crystal and the work surfaces are Kashmir Gold granite. Under-mounted white Kohler porcelain sink benefits from a waste disposal unit and are served by a pewter Perrin and Rowe Atriflo tap with rinse jet. The cooking appliances include an 1100mm wide range and canopy extractor by Rangemaster with a Neff wall mounted microwave oven and an auxiliary Neff induction hob on the island. Behind furniture doors are the integrated dishwasher and larder fridge with the main refrigeration in the pantry.
Finally, I have to point out that Jan's favourite labour-saving devise is the "Zip" Hydro-tap which provides both instant boiling water and chilled water - I agree - fabulous!
